The Farscape Five Universe

Farscape races:

Here are some of the races within the Farscape Five universe: Note that this is not an all nor limited to list of races, it is just to give ideas of what your character could be.

Below the races presented from the Farscape series are one or two created races living in the Farscape Five universe. You are more than welcome to extend your Char's race into this list if you desire but they do not have to be on this list to create your own specialized race for your Char to extend from.

About Humans:

If you want your Char to be human but not start at the planet Edomnia in the Stable Wormhole category you can do so, but your human must have origionated from the Edomnia colony and not be sure of how they ended up elsewhere. For one reason this is because the wormhole to Earth is now destroyed. If you can present a very convincing other sort of origin and history for your human it will be considered.

In Edomnia there is a colony of humans. How they got there is vague but does have something to do with a group piloting out of the Unrealized Reality forum.

Some Farscape series races

Banik
Baniks are a slave race who have been sacrificed in their thousands for such tasks as Budong mining. Only a few among them come to be known for the special art of Stakira. A Stakira risks the danger of succumbing to the reservoir of evil he/she contains when assisting lost souls in crossing over, a little bit of their darkness stays with the Stakira.


Bioloid

Bioloids are finely detailed artificial life forms who can be created in the exact image and personality of another person, a technology predominantly used by the Kalish and Scarran's. The only thing they cannot be created with is knowing all the things the one they have taken the shape of knows. Many Bioloids who survive beyond the service they were created for continue on in desperately secret lives or they will be destroyed upon discovery. In the majority of the Farscape Five universe, those who even know about Bioloids also know their existence beyond their purpose is forbidden.


Charrid
Charrids are a brutal warrior, mercenary race allied to the Scarran's. They pillage, torture, rape and eat their enemies and have a special dislike towards Hynerians. Their particular dagger is specialized to be especially painful when used on the enemy or prisoner. Apart from servicing the Scarran's for various tasks and missions some have their mercenary, bounty hunting and like skills for hire to others.


Delvian

They are a race that is actually a plant with special attributes such as Photogasms and Unity. It is among only the practicing Pa'us of the Delvian Seek who possess such attributes as the forbidden mental assassination and the art for taking of another's pain. The Pa'u is also in danger of falling into their darkside known as the Delvian Madness.


Hynerian
They are most sensitive in their ear/brows, fart helium, eat three times their body weight a day and have a very high metabolism. A Hynerian can heal very quickly from even a serious wound and "flush" toxins from their system such as the Nebari temporary mind cleanse though tannot root when eaten, has very serious adverse effects of turning their farts into a flame thrower and their sweat into virtual TNT. They can also access very small places such as access shafts. On foot they are fairly slow but a sled-seat enables them to glide around with ease, hide small items in private compartments and use it as a ramming device for defense/offense.


Ilanic

They are cousins to the Luxans, having two tanka's (tendons) coming down their head but don't appear to possess any particular special attributes beyond human average.


Interon
Most Interons have black hair but there are exceptions such as Jool who's hair changes from blond to bright red when she is especially upset. Also her scream melts metal. Interon's are a highly intelligent race, believing themselves superior intelligence whose home world does not have war or violence. Most Interon's have a passion for sciences and doctorates and will collect a number of them such as archeology, xeno-biology and a host of other scientific/medical/technological fields.


Kalish
Are a race who have survived by being allies to the Scarran's and working closely with them. The Kalish like the Interons are also highly intelligent and capable of mastering several doctorates of field studies. Interpretation microbes don't work for them so they have to learn each language they encounter. They are able to shift their gravity center (walk on walls) and when a limb is severed it can be reattached.


Luxan
Luxan's are an ancient warrior race that still practices many rights and rituals. Their tanka's as the tendons flowing down their heads are known as, are especially sensitive. One of their special attributes is their tongue which they are able to lash out and strike another, rendering them unconscious, they also have a keen sense of smell. Luxan's are also subject to a "beserker" bout known as the Luxan hyper rage. The priests(ess) they hold in highest esteem are known as Oricans.


Nebari
The general society of Nebari believe in a complacency they'd like to dictate to the rest of the galaxies in "mental cleansing" so much so they have infected some of their own with a contagion meant to be spread throughout the rest of the worlds through sexual contact. It is there intention to rid every one of violence and undesirable thinking and behaviors. Some Nebari rebel this ideal, thus the Resistance lead by Chiana's brother Nerri who both received an antibody from someone higher up in The Establishment to this contagion after being infected. There are Nebari like Chiana who just want to stay away from Nebari Prime and explore their true nature or like Nerri who want to join The Cause to resist The Establishment. There are yet others from nonconformist colonies Nebari Prime didn't want such as the Androgyn, Nebari hermaphrodites. Nebari hold a rather peculiar abilities and attributes touching around mental and psychic special arts that could be a latent art waiting to be discovered and utilized, such as keen intuition verging empathic, half flight, "sensing" things, precognition and/or telepathy and there is that high sex drive. They are tolerant to higher levels of radiation exposure than a human and in the sun they can burn but not tan. Nebari pose an unthreatening posture, they aren't especially very big/physically strong or experienced at warriorisims. Nebari Prime society isn't especially warrioristic or aggressive either but some of their technology is very advanced and formidable.


Scarran
The Scarrans have a very tough, armour skin, it would take a relentless barrage of blasts from a pulse pistol to take them down. They see in colors of heat and have a heat gland within their chest that allows them to launch a wave of agonizing heat from their arm.


Sebacean
Exposure to too much heat begins to affect them until they are in danger of what is known as the living death. Their established military structure is the Peacekeeper's who do not condone interracial relationships or half-breeds, any Peacekeeper who has "spent too much time" with an alien can be deemed irreversibly contaminated. They also forbid couple relationships (falling in love) and Peacekeepers have their own sort of mental cleansing and torture known as Reconditioning for Peacekeepers who have lead astray but not far enough to excommunicate. They are a tough, hard nosed bunch which isn't always the case with Sebacean colonists and sometimes the X-Peacekeeper.


Shyang
The Shyang look almost amphibious and are capable of hurling a flame thrower of fire from their mouths after a good heave to get to the fire source deep within their throats. One good shot from a pulse rifle at the right aim however and a Shyang could explode. Most of them are opportunists, scavengers, junk merchants and pirates with the occasional bounty hunting and slave trade thrown in.


Tavloid
The Tavloids in majority are a warrior race who have a firearm armlet known as a Gauntlet which pumps them with an addictive drug to keep them aggressive. There are some however who have left their Gauntlets behind such as Tuvok. Most Tavloids also wear a face helmet that covers most of their head and eyes. Many of them can be found to be merchants, pirates, scavengers, bounty hunters, mercenaries ect.


Traskan:
Not all Traskan's are like Noranti. To quote Mellisa Jaeffer: "Noranti is from the planet Traska where the third eye is earned after many, many cycles of life experience and becomes visible only when the individual spirit is totally receptive to Wisdom and in this regard it is similar to the spiritual Third Eye."


Vorcarian BloodTracker
The Vorcarians look almost like a dog-race. The females carry the most sensitive sense of smell and its considered the woman's job to use this art in tracking. Many can be found to be bounty hunters, mercenaries and pirates

Zenetan
The majority of Zenetan culture is the pirate and opportunist. They are a masculine appearing race who are either genderless or could be hermaphrodite - ish.

Farscape Five Universe

Kroag
The split face race that was seen at the end of Farscape's season four "Bad Timing". The planet Kroag is not present but the split faces just might be found around.

Aogan of Nebulous Par
A Gecko looking race. The Aogan stand at average human heights and are very thick muscled with big Gecko heads, bold tails and squat legs. They look very much like a bipedal Gecko with sandy rough skin that is more human sensitive than armour worthy and varies in color styles. They also have the padded hands and feet that make them very proficient climbers in their rain forests. Dress is very simple and they value the Scarran clothing they get out of trade with the off worlders. They also carry pulse firing spears and find Luxan qualta blades very desirable and hard to come by. They have matriarchal, complex tribal lives in a semi - almost Aztec like civilization stage and are very integral to their laws, customs and ceremonies to which there is one for everything. They take it for granted that all the off worlders have common knowledge of what these are and how they should conduct themselves. They frown on the inappropriates and those who live in and or govern and act as the security in the Off Worlder outpost city, they frown allot. Their basic beliefs however entail an Earth Goddess.
